Workers: Political Theory Journal of the Workers’ Party of DPRK (North Korea)

Workers is a political theory journal of the Workers’ Party of North Korea, first published on October 25, 1946, and issued on a monthly basis.

The journal primarily targets party members and aims to present the Party’s policies, methods for their implementation, and the promotion of its lines and directives. Accordingly, it features editorials supporting policy execution, theoretical analyses of Party policies, operational experiences from local party organizations and major factories and enterprises, as well as discussions on international affairs and foreign policy—often authored under the real names of key officials.

Articles published in Workers serve as foundational materials for understanding and researching the policy directions of the North Korean regime and the Workers’ Party of North Korea across different periods.

This collection includes 173 volumes (including special issues) covering a 16-year period from 2010 to 2025, offering insight into policy directions during the Kim Jong-un era. (Note: No issues were published in 2020; six issues were missing in 2021; and two issues were missing in 2022.)

Purchase of the complete collection from the inaugural issue is available upon separate arrangement.
